Title Power from on High, or, the Two Hundredth Anniversary of the Great Morovian Revival 1727-1927 by Greenfield, John
POWER FROM ON HIGH
OR
THE TWO HUNDREDTH ANNIVERSARY
OF
THE GREAT MORAVIAN REVIVAL
1727-1927
BY REV. JOHN GREENFIELD
MORAVIAN EVANGELIST
To avert from men God's wrath
Jesus suffered in our stead;
By an ignominious death
He a full atonement made
And by His most precious blood
Brought us, sinners, nigh to God.
But examine first your case,
Whether you be in the faith;
Do you long for pardoning grace
Is your only hope in His death?
Then, howe'er your soul's opprest,
Come, you are a worthy guest.
Composed by John Huss, circa 1400, several years before his martyrdom. Oldest Moravian Hymn known.
